Taking a Break

A few short weeks ago, we woke up to this much fluffy stuff on our back deck.  Mother Nature has not been kind to us this spring.  However, the moisture has been such a benefit that what always follows is the result below.  Yesterday, we took a break from the packing and the dogs and the Mr. and I went to Lyons Park and strolled around the lake.  We strayed away from the lake and took a stroll through the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and marveled at all of the flora and fauna emerging from the earth. The dogs were in heaven with all of the sign posts left by other canines in the grasses and bushes.  The Gardens are the best in the state and the caretakers do a marvelous job.  We noticed that the vegetable gardens are planted and volunteers are working the soil and green sprouts are bursting with the few days of sun and rain that now replaces the snow and cloudy days.
As we walked, we stumbled upon a family of geese. Mama and papa were keeping a watchful eye on these babies and we were allowed to walk along the path so close that we could almost reach down and touch these goslings.  Papa goose, did warn us with a hissing noise, but they did not stray from the lush grasses they were consuming and it was another sign that perhaps all of that snow is gone for a few months.

We will continue to prepare for this move, and today we saw a table with chairs, a loveseat and two recliners leave with one of our neighbors.  The less we have to move, the easier it becomes.
